As local resources for private instruction are often lacking, Oregon Symphony in Salem’s Master Coaching sessions provide each of the six Salem-Keizer high schools with opportunities to receive expert instruction from an Oregon Symphony musician.
High school music teachers may request a preferred instrument for the Master Coaching session. If available, an Oregon Symphony musician will be selected and put in touch with the teacher to ensure that the session meets the school’s needs, such as one-on-one coaching, class instruction, or coaching on a particular piece of music. Master coaching sessions will be offered either in-person or virtually, dependent on current OHA and Salem-Keizer SD health and safety guidelines.
